After a year of wedding planning, high school sweethearts Emily and Tyler were just two weeks away from officially tying the knot, but then the COVID-19 pandemic hit. “It happened so quickly,” says Emily. “We had less than two weeks to decide what we wanted to do. Everything that we had been planning for a year came to a stop. However, it made us realize that we truly just wanted to be married to one another and we could always celebrate with everyone another time.” On March 28th, 2020, Emily and Tyler exchanged vows in a traditional catholic ceremony amidst their family members. The bride looked gorgeous in a classic sleeveless wedding gown and elegant bridal up-do by Janelle Alexis Salon. Following a white rose petal sendoff, the newlyweds strolled around the empty streets of downtown Houston for romantic wedding day portraits.
Even though their wedding didn’t go as originally planned, Emily describes her wedding day as “perfect.” Says the bride: “It will be something we will always remember. Waking up and having brunch with my sister, mom, and two friends. Being able to really enjoy getting ready and reading the letters we wrote to one another. From just having our family in the church to witness us getting married. To leaving the church and being surprised by all of our family and friends throwing petals outside and having the entire downtown to ourselves while taking pictures.”
